NYC’s long distance moving specialists
Moving from NYC to another state? Excellence Moving has completed thousands of interstate relocations since 2013. Whether you’re moving to Boston, Miami, Chicago, LA, or anywhere in between, we provide dedicated trucks (no transferring your belongings to other carriers), guaranteed delivery dates, and full-value protection on every shipment.
Unlike brokerage companies that auction your move to the lowest bidder, Excellence Moving runs its own fleet of long-distance trucks and employs its own drivers. Your move is our move — not a third-party contractor’s problem. That’s why we can guarantee dates, communication, and quality from pickup to delivery.

Long distance moving questions
How long does a long distance move take?
Transit times depend on distance: NYC to Boston 4–6 hours, NYC to DC overnight, NYC to Florida 3–5 days, NYC to Chicago 5–7 days, NYC to California 7–14 days. We commit to specific delivery windows in your contract.
Do you offer guaranteed delivery dates?
Yes. We commit to a delivery window (e.g., Tuesday–Thursday) in writing. If we deliver outside that window, we pay $100 per day in compensation. This is rare, but we stand behind it.
What insurance coverage do you offer?
Basic coverage is 60¢ per pound per article (federal minimum). We strongly recommend full-value protection at $9.50/lb declared value, which covers repair or replacement at current market value.
How is the cost calculated?
Long distance costs depend on weight, distance, packing services, and access fees. We provide binding estimates (not non-binding that change on delivery day) after a survey.
Can I pack some items myself?
Yes. You can pack your own boxes (we recommend professional packing for fragile items). However, items you pack are not covered under our carrier liability — only full-value protection covers them.
Do you offer storage if my new home isn’t ready?
Yes. We offer month-to-month climate-controlled storage at our secure facility. Your belongings stay in our truck or in our warehouse until you’re ready for delivery. No extra shuttle fees.
